Physicians turned their influence into action, pressing government for health-care reform at Queen’s Park Day, the Ontario Medical Association’s largest advocacy event.
More than 100 doctors attended the event with politicians from all parties, sharing insights and experiences working in Ontario’s health-care system.
Attendees advocated for the OMA’s 11 solutions to its three urgent priorities – the primary care crisis, administrative burden and home- and community-based care — as outlined in the Prescription for Ontario: Doctors’ Solutions for Immediate Action report. The report — created after extensive consultation with physicians, rural experts and other major health-care stakeholders – was presented to the government in advance of the provincial budget due out in February.
