Media Advisory: OMA president holds media availability Sunday at Sudbury memorial site for victims of the opioid crisis

What: OMA President Adam Kassam and OME CEO Allan O’Dette will meet with a mother whose son died of an opioid overdose and is leading the Crosses for Change campaign to highlight the need for more mental health and addictions services in northern Ontario. On behalf of Ontario’s doctors, Dr. Kassam is drawing attention to the profound and disproportionate impact of the opioid crisis and mental health issues in northern Ontario.

When: Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021, from 4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Media are invited for photographs, videos and interviews with the OMA and the mother, Denise Sandul.

Where: The Crosses for Change memorial site at 170 Shaughnessy St., Sudbury, Ont., on the grounds of the Sudbury Theatre Centre, at the corner of Paris and Brady Streets in the city’s downtown.
