TORONTO, June 24, 2021 — Ontario’s doctors welcome the province’s plan to move to Step 2 of its reopening strategy on June 30 while encouraging everyone to celebrate cautiously and get the first vaccine available.
Ontarians have made many sacrifices throughout the pandemic and our vaccination efforts have made the real difference in the fight against COVID-19. Being fully vaccinated is crucial to ending this pandemic, and doctors encourage all Ontarians to take the first vaccine that is offered to them for their first and second dose.
“As we continue with encouraging trends, being fully vaccinated is crucial to our success in reopening and recovery,” said OMA President Dr. Adam Kassam. “We also want to remind Ontarians that both Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines are highly effective with very little difference between them. We encourage everyone to get their first and second shots and take whichever vaccine is offered to them.”
The Ontario Medical Association also urges everyone to continue with existing public health measures as the province reaches this new step in reopening.
