Ontario’s doctors encouraged to see no COVID deaths reported today

TORONTO, July 7, 2021 — Ontario’s doctors were encouraged today to see no new COVID-19 deaths reported for the first time since Oct. 14, 2020.

This good news shows that vaccinations, coupled with continuing pandemic restrictions and public health guidelines, are working. The Ontario Medical Association urges Ontarians who have yet to be vaccinated to do so as soon as possible to protect themselves and others so we can reopen the economy and return to a “new normal.”

“With the finish line for vaccinations very much in sight, we urge all Ontarians to book their first and second shots,” said OMA President Dr. Adam Kassam. “With this last kilometre effort, we can look forward to the rest of the summer and fall with optimism and hope.”

Anyone with questions about vaccinations should ask their family doctor, pediatrician or local public health unit.

It's time to change Ontario's health care for the better as the post-pandemic recovery begins. Complete our survey at betterhealthcare.ca and help shape the future of health care.
