1939 – 2024 (referred to as Kitch by those who knew him) Passed away peacefully, on December 23, 2024.
He loved his family, friends, colleagues and patients, making everyone feel valued. He often told his patients, "I treat you like I treat my family," a testament to his empathy, kindness, and generosity toward everyone he encountered.
Dr. Kitchell worked on staff at Michael Garron Hospital (formerly Toronto East General Hospital) for over 35 years. He was not only respected and admired for his exceptional skills as a physician, but also for his genuine warmth and commitment to connecting with everyone he encountered, both at the hospital and in his private practice. He maintained the belief that the glass was always half full.
He passed away surrounded by his loved ones at his side.
The funeral will be a private family affair. Donations in his memory can be made to Michael Garron Hospital Foundation.
