It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Dr. Sanaa Helmi on Nov. 24, 2024, after a sudden illness.
Sanaa Helmi, MD, MNP, DABPN, FRCPC — born just “Sanaa Helmi” on March 25, 1961 — was a dedicated community psychiatrist. She aspired to make a difference in the world, for her family and patients and the many lives she touched. She valued her role and privilege as a physician to help people. A truly compassionate person, Dr. Helmi prioritized care and her patients’ well-being above all else.
While irreplaceable to those who loved her, her legacy lives on in the places and people she impacted through her dedication to medicine and mental health.
May she forever inspire peace of mind, the courage to care deeply, and, most of all, happiness.
