It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Peter Fu-Kar Fong, MD, FRCPC, at the age of 84 after a short illness.
Survived by Odette, his loving wife of 58 years, his children Mireille (Mark) and Daniel, and grandchildren Madeleine, Michelle and Luc. Also survived by his siblings John, Ruth, Betty, Stephen, Albert and Imelda. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews, friends and life-long friends.
Peter was a generous and humble person. To the end, he remained curious, meticulous and interested in people.
Peter was born in Hong Kong in 1939 and came to study in Canada at age 18. He studied at St. Mary's in Halifax, graduated from the faculty of medicine at the University of Ottawa in 1965 and completed his residency at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto. After graduation, he worked as a radiologist in Oshawa, Ont., and the Durham region. After retirement, Peter and Odette moved to Ottawa to be closer to family.
