Dr. Nashwan Naom passed with his loving family by his side on Dec. 3, 2023 at the age of 59. Beloved son of Alber Naom and the late Nihad Hadad. Loving husband to Daad Sayegh. Adoring father of Rami and Fadi. Eldest brother to Anmar, Sima (Fadi Sayegh), Salwan (Yousra Shamoon), and Sarmad (Sally Almukhar).
Nashwan was born in Baghdad, Iraq. His life was nothing short of expectational, a perpetual example of defying the odds and achieving the impossible. He received his medical degree in Iraq and went on to complete specialty training in internal medicine. He ultimately brought his family to Canada in 2002, in hopes of a better life, which he in no doubt accomplished. He worked tirelessly to regain his qualifications and practice medicine in Canada, a remarkably difficult accomplishment. He went on to serve the community of Leamington for more than 15 years as an internal medicine physician, eventually being selected as the chief of internal medicine for the last few years of his career.
Nashwan was an intelligent, humble, faithful, hardworking, compassionate and caring doctor who will be missed by his colleagues, staff and patients. Moreover, there are not enough words to describe the incredible selfless sacrifices and overwhelming support he has given and continues to give to his family. Nashwan is already and will forever be truly missed by his loving family, relatives, friends, colleagues, and the greater community he served.
