Dr. John R. (Jack) Dubois made his final exit on Dec. 5, 2023, having led a full and productive life of 92 years. As a practicing child psychiatrist of fifty years, he saw more than 7,000 patients. All of his medical (and psychiatric) training was in the U.S. He came to Canada when he was invited to be the founding executive director of Madame Vanier Children’s Services in 1965.
He is predeceased by his wife Mary Lou (Douglas) and survived by his three children, John, Patrick and Lou Anne (Carlson); two stepchildren, Jeff and Jenifer; and his sister, Nancy (Moffitt); and four grandchildren.
Predeceased by his parents, John R. senior and Madlyn; and his sister, Lois (Pellegrino); and his first wife, Mary Lou (Dettinger). At his request, he will be cremated and there will be no funeral.
