It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Dr. Edith Zoltan Ginzberg, born June 14, 1931, Hungary. Last survivor of a large family, daughter of Lajos (Yehuda Leibish) Goldstein and Paula Herskovits Goldstein, she survived war and internment, trained in medicine, and moved to Canada where she practiced for many years. Spouse of Dr. Leibish Ginzberg z''l. After a long illness, she passed peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday Aug. 29, at Apotex Centre. Edith z"l is survived by her beloved children and son-in-law David, Hedy and Patrick, grandchildren Pierce, Arielle and Lyla, nieces and nephew Aniko of Budapest, Susie of Montreal, and Miki of Guelph and great-nieces and nephews and their families.
Edith valued her independence greatly but suffered from multiple medical illnesses that limited her mobility and function for over 10 years before she needed full-time care. The Circle of Care provided support in many different areas, including transportation, daily home care, physiotherapy, and meals, and most importantly provided all of these services with compassion and kindness as if providing it to a family member.
