Dr. Ann Theo Marshall. Feb. 21, 1929 - May 16, 2023.
With sadness but joy for a full, well-lived life, we announce the passing of Ann Theo Marshall (née Bowden), on May 16, 2023, in her 95th year. The result of a short illness, her last days and hours were spent where she had worked at Strathroy Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised in Belfast, N. Ireland, educated at Queen's University, Belfast, married in 1951 to the Reverend Robert T.A. Marshall, moved to Canada and then Strathroy in 1959 as a medical doctor.
Her career as a family physician spanned over 60 years. She became an avid sailor throughout Lake Huron and the Abaco Islands of the Bahamas for many years.
Theo is survived by their four sons: Neil (Deborah), Peter (Colleen), Alan, David (Sally), nine grandchildren: Nuala (Greg), Clare (Darren), Erin (Ruben), Rachèle (Stephanie), Colin (Nancy), Catherine (Anael), Sarah (Cody), Isaac (Samantha): and seven great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her husband Robert Marshall (1995), sister Sally Suter (2017) and granddaughter Emily Ann Marshall (2022).
The stories of Theo's life are inspiring to us all. We would like to thank all those who reached out with memories, words of comfort, love and support.
The family has held a private celebration of life and her ashes were scattered with those of Robert in a special place, close to the Lake Huron waters that they loved and explored.
Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to Doctors Without Borders (MSF) or the Stephen Lewis Foundation.
