Dr. Adolfo Sanchez died on March 15, 2024, at the age of 90. He is survived by his devoted wife, Eszter, his three loving children Monica, Federico and Bernardo, their spouses Brian, Darlene and Kim, as well as his three delightful grandchildren Adelaide, Dylan and Nicholas.
Adolfo was born in Moreda de Ayer of Asturias, Spain. He moved to Canada to escape the stagnation of post-Second World War Europe. He and Eszter married in 1963 and raised their dynamic and progressive family in Montreal and then in Toronto.
Adolfo was an accomplished and well-respected psychiatrist, committed to his patients until he retired at 85. His flexibility, compassion and deep desire to help made him a beloved and now deeply missed physician. He was devoted to his family and expressed this devotion by providing in abundance. He loved good food (especially Eszter’s wonderful cooking), travelling, Asturian music, golf and history.
Adolfo was deeply admired for his remarkable and genuine joie de vivre and his ability to delight with his stories. His children are thankful that he has found peace from the pain of his last few weeks.
