Dr. Russel Fleming passed away peacefully at Georgian Bay General Hospital on the morning of Jan. 16th, 2023, at the age of 79.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Patricia; son, John; daughter-in-law, Farah, grandson, Hugo; daughter, Melanie; son-in-law, Mike; grandson, Jeffrey; sisters Marie and Jean; and the many friends and colleagues with whom he generously shared his life.
Russel was a leader in promoting respectful and dignified mental health care and spent over 40 years as a psychiatrist at Waypoint Centre.
His many recreational activities, such as softball, tennis, fishing, golf, and bridge, were opportunities for both personal enjoyment and to improve the well-being of those around him. Russel lived to enhance the lives of others.
