It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Dr. John P. Brennan on Aug. 4, 2023, at the age of 66. He passed away in Southlake Hospital surrounded by his family.
John Brennan will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend, Lynn Brennan, of 39 years. He will be missed by his three boys, their partners and five grandchildren: Travis and Robyn, Curtis and Jessica, Nolan and Shivali, and grandchildren: Wyatt, Isaac, Halli, Harper and Kian. He will be missed by all of the extended families.
John is also missed by the many communities in which he dedicated himself to service. In these communities, he made a larger home: Honda family, Rugged Shores family, Parry Sound, Wasauksing First Nation community, Barrie, Wah-Wash-Kesh, the medical community, the engineering community, Simcoe Parts, Curling, Cunningham and triathlon/marathon communities. The loss of John truly reverberates across the province, country and world.
John Brennan packed so much life and experiences into his short 66 years. He accomplished many feats. John approached all aspects of his life with the same determination - with relentless forward progress. John wore many watches, glasses and hats – but always the same shirts. He will always be remembered as a devoted husband, dad and grandpa. He will always be regarded as a dedicated physician, engineer, Ironman triathlete, marathoner, friend, mentor, confidant, efficiency finder, tinkerer and fixer of all things needing fixing.
As John belonged to many communities, the family asks that a donation to a local charity of your choosing be made in his memory.
