Pediatrician Dr. Shalea Piteau is passionate about advocating for the health needs of her young patients and growing her knowledge as a physician leader. She is the Chief Medical Director of Pediatrics at Quinte Health Care (QHC) and an assistant professor at Queen’s University. Dr. Piteau completed a Bachelor of Science Honors Degree at Queen’s University, a Master of Science in physiology at the University of British Columbia, and medical school at UBC, then returned to Queen’s University for her residency in pediatrics. Her medical interests include diabetes, behavioural concerns, and asthma. Dr. Piteau is constantly learning and seeking opportunities to grow her leadership. She serves as the representative of the Distributive Learning Model on the Academic Medicine Forum (AMF) at Queen’s University and edited the textbook Update in Pediatrics. Dr. Piteau has taken several physician leadership training courses through the OMA, the University of Toronto, and Harvard University. She is an avid volunteer and has participated in medical mission trips in South America, Africa and Asia.
