Dr Abdul Qayyum Rana

World-renowned neurologist Dr. Abdul Qayyum Rana founded the World Parkinson’s Program. His writing on Parkinson’s disease has been used in over 50 countries.

Dr. Abdul Qayyum Rana is a world-renowned neurologist who specializes in Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders. He is the director of the Parkinson’s Clinic of Eastern Toronto and Movement Disorders Centre in Toronto. Dr. Abdul Qayyum Rana also founded the World Parkinson’s Program, a Canadian charitable organization dedicated to improving the lives of those with Parkinson’s disease by proving free medications and other supportive services. He was awarded an honorary FRCP by the Royal College of Physicians of the UK and the Wayne-Hening Award for his research on restless leg syndrome and Parkinson’s disease.

Dr. Abdul Qayyum Rana’s writing on Parkinson’s disease has been translated into over 20 languages and disseminated in over 50 countries. His series of 13 brochures titled, Frequently Asked Questions about Parkinson’s Disease is used by colleagues worldwide. Dr. Rana is the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Parkinsonism and has written eight books on neurology, Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders.
