2023 Annual General Meeting
The 2023 AGM took place on Thursday, May 4, from 7-9:30 p.m. The meeting was held in person in Windsor, Ont., (District 1), with members also joining virtually from across the province. The in-person meeting was held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Windsor Hotel & Suites in the Riverview Ballroom.
The meeting was open to all OMA members in good standing. To attend and participate in the meeting, members had to register in advance.

Impactful story of Ontario’s doctors leading patient care during the height of the pandemic
Dr. Marguerite Chevalier, a Windsor family physician and hospitalist, will forever remember the COVID-19 pandemic for its impact on her, her colleagues and her community.
She was part of the team from Windsor Regional Hospital, along with doctors from other acute care campuses, that erected a field hospital during the height of the pandemic in spring 2020. The team transformed a school gymnasium into a fully functioning 100-bed treatment centre, in just 14 days, to isolate and care for elderly patients from a long-term care home who were infected in an outbreak.
In this video recounting her experience, Dr. Chevalier expresses how hard and emotional those times were, sharing personal stories of triumph and loss. Viewers will be left with eight takeaways from her time in the field hospital, that highlight the importance of perspective and how even in the hardest times, moments of joy and growth can be found.

Members were asked to consider and approve the:
- Minutes of the 2022 AGM
- Finance and Audit Committee Report, including:
- Report from the auditor (member only)
- 2022 audited financial statements
- Appointment of the auditors
The meeting agenda also includes the installation of the new OMA president and a report from the OMA board of directors and CEO on the stewardship of the organization. Members in attendance had an opportunity to ask questions and exchange perspectives on relevant areas of corporate governance and OMA operations.
