Post Graduate Training
After Med School
Post-graduate Training/Residency
Medical Students must apply to the Canadian Residency Matching Service
for post-graduate training in order to receive certification from either
the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or the College of
Family Physicians of Canada.
Applying
The Canadian Residency Matching Service (CaRMS) is an application and
matching process. Established by the Association of Canadian Medical
Colleges (ACMC), with representation by the Canadian Federation of Medical
Students (CFMS), CaRMS provides an orderly way for applicants to decide
where to train and for program directors to decide which applicants they
wish to enroll in post-graduate medical training.
