Investing in the Future of Medicine - A Cooperative Effort

The Ontario Medical Student Bursary Fund (OMSBF) is a cooperative effort of the Ontario Medical Association (OMA), the Ontario Medical Foundation (OMF), Ontario Faculties of Medicine and donors including individual physicians, corporations, foundations and others who wish to help safeguard the future of medicine in Ontario. OMSBF bursaries will be directed to needy medical students studying at Ontario's participating Faculties of Medicine.

Medical studies require the focus of students many hours of the day and night, year-round. When bright students passionately interested in studying medicine must decline acceptance to medical school - which financially challenged students sacrifice study hours to earn extra income - we are squandering potential.

Where does the money go?

Funds raised by OMSBF are disbursed to financially challenged medical students enrolled in one of the six Ontario Medical Schools. The non-repayable $2,000 bursary is awarded to students who demonstrate financial need.
