Below is information to help you access free software that
will improve your ability to utilize our website. Adobe Reader allows
you to download our forms and guidelines which are in pdf format, and
with versions 5.0 and 6.0, you can fill out the forms online. Having
the most recent version of Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator as
your Internet browser will allow you to view the CME Program website
as it was designed to be viewed. The first section consists of links
and basic instructions to obtain these free programs, and the second
section can help you find the information you will need to download the
programs. (Mac users will have different instructions)
Adobe Reader (previously known as Adobe Acrobat Reader)

- The Adobe website should automatically detect which version of the Adobe Reader will work best on your system. If you encounter problems please view the Additional
Help for
assistance
- You will be asked if you want to Open or Save the file
- If you have
anti-virus software choose to Save the file - it is generally advisable
to create a folder on your desktop in which to save downloaded files.
Then you
can scan
the
downloaded files with your anti-virus software before installing
them on your machine - install the program by double clicking on the
file in your download folder
- If you don't have anti-virus software choose Open
- The program installation begins, follow the prompts in Setup
- It should automatically save under C:\Program Files
- You should not need to restart your computer to use Adobe Reader,
but if you have difficulties try restarting your computer

Internet Explorer
Download the most recent version of Internet Explorer
- To download Internet Explorer, you will need to know: your operating
system, your processor speed, your computer's RAM and your available
hard drive space - see Additional Help for assistance
- You will be asked if you want to Open or Save the file
- If you have anti-virus software choose to Save the file - it is generally
advisable to create a folder on your desktop in which to save downloaded
files. Then you can scan the downloaded files with your anti-virus
software before installing them on your machine - install the program
by double clicking on the file in your download folder
- If you don't have anti-virus software choose Open
- The program installation begins, follow the prompts in Setup
- It should automatically save under C:\Program Files
- You will need to restart your computer to complete the installation

Mozilla's Firefox

- To download Firefox, you will need to know: your operating system, your processor speed, your computer's RAM and your available hard drive space (see System Requirements on the Firefox download page) - see Additional Help for assistance
- You will be asked if you want to Open or Save the file

If Netscape is your preferred browser, the CME website is best viewed
with the Netscape 7 browser.

How do I...
...tell what version of Windows (operating system) I have? Click
on your start menu and running up left hand side of the start menu box
it should state what version you have, if it doesn't double click on
'my computer' – 'help' – 'about
Windows'
...tell how much RAM I have? Right click on 'My computer',
click Properties and in the General tab, near the bottom it will
state
the amount of RAM,
most of the time you need to know MB (mega bytes) so if your number
is in KB (kilobytes) divide the number by 1024 to get your RAM in MB.
...tell how much hard drive space I have? Double click
on 'My computer', right
click on C drive (Local Disc (C:), click on 'properties' and look for
a number in MB. If your number appears as GB (giga bytes) multiply
by 1000
to get the amount in MB.
...tell what speed my processor is? Click on your
Start menu, then control
panel, double click on 'system' and look for a number in MHz (mega
hertz).
...tell what version of Adobe Reader I have? Click
on your Start menu, then Programs and look for either Adobe Reader
or Acrobat
Reader and the number that follows is the version number.
...tell what version of Internet Explorer I have? With
your browser (Internet Explorer) open, click on Help, then About Internet
Explorer and it will tell you the version of Internet Explorer.
...tell what version of Netscape I have? With your
browser (Netscape) open, click on Help, then About Netscape and it
will tell
you the version number of Netscape.
...tell what version of Firefox I have? With your browser (Firefox) open, click on Help, then About Mozilla Firefox and it will tell you the version number of Firefox.
